Great Barrier Reef Traditional Owner Healthy Water Project.
“Looking After all of Madjandji Waters”
The Traditional Owner Healthy Water Project has allowed Madjandji Aboriginal Corporation play a significant role culturally informing and participating in local Great Barrier Reef Regional Program to ensure our waters will be healthy into the long-term future, and our cultural values and knowledge of Madjandji places are shared and respected for generations to come.
Madjandji Rangers and Elders worked with a specialist to map and promote the spiritual, traditional, ecological, cultural values and knowledge of our Traditional waters and places. Rangers have also carried out successful land restoration activities in partnership with Mulgrave Landcare & Catchment Group and Greening Australia.
